Diese kommen aus ganz unterschiedlichen Bereichen: zum Beispiel aus der Forschung, Museen, Bibliotheken, Archiven, NGOs, der Verwaltung oder dem Gesundheitsbereich. So vielfältig diese Zielgruppe auf den ersten Blick sein mag, sie eint das Interesse an der Umsetzung partizipativer Projekte, an gemeinsamer Wissensproduktion und dem Einbezug der Bevölkerung. Genau in dieser Kombination aus Unterschieden und Gemeinsamkeiten der CAS-Teilnehmenden sehen wir eine grosse Chance für das Von- und Miteinander-Lernen und für die Vernetzung mit Gleichgesinnten, die sich in ganz anderen institutionellen Umgebungen bewegen und zu den verschiedensten Themen arbeiten.

Webinar: Data protection, vulnerable groups and citizen science

This interesting webinar will shed some light on the challenges and possible solutions of data protection of vulnerable groups. In the first part, the webinar will focus on the guidelines and desirable practices when working with vulnerable groups to assure their rights are protected. Then, representatives of citizen science projects that work with vulnerable groups will give their insights. Afterwards, there will be an interactive exercise followed by a final discussion. Stories about Women in Citizen Science

ECSA is celebrating the 2022 International Day of Women and Girls in Science. This is promoted every year by UNESCO. Together with the ECSA Storytelling and Other Arts Working Group, we will share stories from many people (from all genders) from our community, who are particularly engaged in this field. One day a year is not enough to achieve equal opportunities for all, however even these symbolic moments are inspiring and need our strong support. The Role of Citizens in EU Missions Implementation

The TIME4CS consortium is delighted to invite you at the 1st Citizen Science Helix Event on The Role of Citizens in EU Missions Implementation - Tuesday, the 8th of February. EU Missions are a novelty of the Horizon Europe research and innovation programme. They are a new way to bring concrete solutions to some of our greatest challenges. With ambitious goals, they will deliver impact by putting research and innovation into a new role, combined with new forms of governance and collaboration, as well as by engaging citizens. Missions will engage with citizens to boost societal uptake of new solutions and approaches. But what exactly will the role of citizens in the EU Missions implementation be? And how can we best integrate Citizen Science not only in the 5 areas of the Missions but also in our organisations? This event is aimed at anyone interested in Citizen Science and in participating in a project targeting one of the forthcoming Mission Calls. This event will also touch on the institutionalisation of Citizen Science and will have a dedicated pitch sessions (short presentations from participants searching for partners) for the upcoming Mission Calls. Paris Open Science European Conference (OSEC)

This international conference is being organised with the strong support of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, the French Academy of Sciences, the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS),the National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm), the High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (Hcéres), the French National Research Agency (ANR), the University of Lorraine and the University of Nantes. The main topics addressed during this conference come within the framework of the transformation of the research and innovation ecosystem in Europe. Particular attention will be given to transparency in health research, the necessary transformation of research evaluations, the future of scientific publishing, and the opening of codes and software produced in a scientific context.

3rd ESFRI RIs -EOSC Workshop: What does EOSC bring to RI users?

The main objective of the workshop is to bring together ESFRI, ESFRI Research Infrastructures (RIs) and European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) stakeholders, in order to showcase and better comprehend the EOSC concept, including the Open Science and “FAIR” policy agenda, and the vision for the future, along with the EOSC value proposition for its users, and ensure an optimal federation of clusters and RIs with EOSC. The event will focus on the current state of EOSC and how the thematic RIs and ESFRI clusters fit into the developing landscape, including the partnership with the newly established EOSC Association.

Online Course on Management of Biosphere Reserves and other designated areas

If you are a post graduate student, young scientist, member of a MAB Youth Group, educator or manager working on Biosphere Reserves and other designated areas, then, this online course is for you! The course is the virtual part of the 2021 Asterousia Hybrid University on Management of Biosphere Reserves and other designated areas, and will run from 10 January to 6 February 2022. The course in a nutshell : DURATION: Four weeks, starting from 10 January to 6 February 2022. FORMAT: It combines asynchronous (self-paced) and synchronous sessions (weekly live meetings). COMMITTMENT: The total training time for learners is approx. 20 hours (~5 hours/week). PARTICIPANTS: MAB Youth Group members, Post-Graduate Students, Young Scientists, Educators and Managers of Biosphere Reserves and other designated areas, with a priority to be given to applicants from European and Mediterranean countries. LANGUAGE: English. CERTIFICATION: Learners who succesfully complete 80% of the course assignments will get the course's certificate co-signed by the UNESCO Regional Office for Science and Culture in Europe and the UNESCO Chair & Network on Sustainable Development Management and Education in the Mediterranean. EUSEA Conference 2021

The annual conference of the European Science Engagement Association (EUSEA) is aimed at researchers and practitioners in the fields of science communication and citizen science. This year's edition will also celebrate the 20th anniversary of EUSEA. On this occasion, no conference fees will be charged for participation. During this event, topics such as the importance of citizen and societal engagement in Horizon Europe and the perspectives on public engagement outside of Europe will be tackled. In addition, you can also attend four interactive workshops focused on new and exciting ways of science communication.

ESCAPE 1st Citizen Science Workshop

The First ESCAPE Citizen Science Workshop will feature showcases of successful citizen science projects in several research fields covered by the ESCAPE Science Partners. There will also be a series of hands-on tutorials in which you will learn how to build your own citizen science project, implement advanced statistical aggregation methods and integrate machine learning.

Workshop series: Common challenges in citizen science

Scivil and Stickydot are organising a series of four thematic workshops on common challenges in citizen science. These workshops are aimed at people who are involved or interested in coordinating, organising or supporting citizen science initiatives. Experience with citizen science is welcome, but not required, just your willingness to ask, share and discuss about the topic! Each workshop will kick off with a short inspirational testimonial by a citizen science practitioner, followed by breakout and plenary sessions where you will be discussing and exchanging questions, experiences and challenges with the other participants. The first one of these workshops will take place on the 30th of November; the second one on the 7th of December; the third one on the 14th of December; and the last one on the 21st of December. You can sign up for just one workshop, all four, or anything in between.

The future of citizen science: sharing experiences from the European community

The future of citizen science: sharing experiences from the European community is a gathering of the global citizen science community. It is aimed at sharing experiences and stimulating debates about the role citizen science can play in supporting a sustainable, just and green Europe. Over two days you will hear from a great variety of speakers, be able to share your ideas and meet like-minded individuals. Here are some of the highlights you can look forward to: hear from over twenty different speakers from across Europe, take part in the satellite high-level policy event, take part in discussions during a variety of interactive sessions, check out the booth area for some inspiring citizen science projects and enjoy the networking moments, culinary experiences and social rooms. This online conference is jointly organised by the ACTION and the EU-Citizen.Science projects and proudly supported by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme. The event will take place online from 11:00 to 16:30 CET on 24 November and from 10:00 to 13:00 CET on 25 November.

Webinar & Workshop "Copernicus: Europe's Satellite Data for Our Own Climate"

The event offers participants a first insight into the Earth Observation System "Copernicus" and the broad application possibilities of the openly available data. Copernicus offers freely accessible services in various fields, which among other things directly contribute to the monitoring of climate change. In addition, a limited number of participants will have the opportunity to get to know and use the Sen2Cube.at toolbox of the University of Salzburg in a professionally guided workshop. Sen2cube supports the image analysis of satellite data of user-defined regions and intervals. By means of an example it will be shown how these data can be used for own research. Citizen Science: Two Institutional Viewpoints from the UK and Denmark

In this webinar, LIBER’s Citizen Science Working Group will focus on the role of Citizen Science in research universities and libraries by exploring two case studies: the UCL office for Open Science and Scholarship, and Citizen Science Knowledge Center at the University of Southern Denmark. After this webinar you will be able to: • Achieve a greater understanding of the role of Citizen Science in research-led universities; • Be able to identify practical ways to implement Citizen Science to include citizens as partners in research; • Know where to find the resources and skills needed to deliver Citizen Science practice.
