YouCount: Save the dates for Final Conference 4-5 December 2023

Youth Citizen Social Science contributing to social inclusion How can we shape an inclusive society for young people at risk of exclusion in Europe? What role can Citizen Science play in this endeavour? The Horizon 2020 research and innovation project YouCount explored these questions through co-creative research with youth and local stakeholders in nine countries across ten cases. After two years of hands-on Youth Citizen Social Science work, YouCount will share experiences and look ahead to discuss findings and potential impacts on EU policies and beyond. Program: The first day includes a seminar focusing on hands-on Youth Citizen Social Science and a welcome reception. The final conference takes place on the second day where we will discuss implications of key findings with stakeholders and policymakers. On both days, the voices of our young co-researchers will be amplified during presentations, interactive sessions, round table discussions and an exhibition. Connect. Collaborate. Create. Bridging communities to foster participatory research and citizen science

An interactive conference hosted by Horizon 2020 projects COESO and ProEthics to bridge key European communities to: 1) activate participatory research and citizen science involving the social sciences and humanities, and 2) foster ethical participatory approaches to research funding. All citizen science practitioners or supporters are welcome! SSH researchers, civil society professionals & organizations, librarians, science shop coordinators, research funding organizations, policy makers, and more are encouraged to actively participate. The future of citizen science: sharing experiences from the European community

The future of citizen science: sharing experiences from the European community is a gathering of the global citizen science community. It is aimed at sharing experiences and stimulating debates about the role citizen science can play in supporting a sustainable, just and green Europe. Over two days you will hear from a great variety of speakers, be able to share your ideas and meet like-minded individuals. Here are some of the highlights you can look forward to: hear from over twenty different speakers from across Europe, take part in the satellite high-level policy event, take part in discussions during a variety of interactive sessions, check out the booth area for some inspiring citizen science projects and enjoy the networking moments, culinary experiences and social rooms. This online conference is jointly organised by the ACTION and the EU-Citizen.Science projects and proudly supported by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme. The event will take place online from 11:00 to 16:30 CET on 24 November and from 10:00 to 13:00 CET on 25 November.

Citizen engagement TRANSFORMing regional R&I policymaking

Citizen engagement can strengthen trust between institutions and citizens. In the TRANSFORM project (funded under Horizon 2020) citizen science, co-design and co-creation have been applied to regional R&I decision-making in Lombardy, Catalonia, and Brussels-Capital. Through sharing of experiences and promising outcomes of citizen engagement in regional R&I policies, this participatory lab will provide examples and suggestions on how to create more open, transparent and inclusive regional R&I governance processes. Join us in an interactive session and learn more about the benefits of citizen engagement, get your questions answered by experts, share your experiences and suggestions for further applications in regional decision making.
