Dann bist Du hier richtig - egal ob ganz am Anfang einer vagen Idee oder schon mittendrin. Denn: Gemeinsam wissen wir mehr. Vielschichtige Perspektiven & Erfahrungen Neben Inputs zu zentralen Themen rund um partizipative Projektarbeit lebt der CAS von den vielschichtigen Perspektiven und Erfahrungen der Teilnehmenden. Diese kommen aus ganz unterschiedlichen Bereichen: zum Beispiel aus der Forschung, Museen, Bibliotheken, Archiven, NGOs, der Verwaltung oder dem Gesundheitsbereich. So vielfältig diese Zielgruppe auf den ersten Blick sein mag, sie eint das Interesse an der Umsetzung partizipativer Projekte, an gemeinsamer Wissensproduktion und dem Einbezug der Bevölkerung. Genau in dieser Kombination aus Unterschieden und Gemeinsamkeiten der CAS-Teilnehmenden sehen wir eine grosse Chance für das Von- und Miteinander-Lernen und für die Vernetzung mit Gleichgesinnten, die sich in ganz anderen institutionellen Umgebungen bewegen und zu den verschiedensten Themen arbeiten.

ORION Open Science Final Conference
The conference will consist of two parts of 3 hours each: 27 September - Co-creation, engagement and dialogue – Sharing experiences Get practical hands-on tips and tricks to engage the public in science and how to embed Open Science practices in your organisation. The session will highlight tools; citizen science activities, co-creation methodologies, funding frameworks, action plans and training materials developed and tested during the ORION Open Science project. 28 September - Embedding Open Science practices at national, European and institutional level Join policy makers and other stakeholders from across Europe to discuss ways to embed open science practices at national, European and institutional level as well as future collaboration opportunities.
Nature is vitally important, and nature is in trouble, but we can all help with nature’s recovery by helping fill in the gaps in what we know about the species on our doorsteps. By looking out for wildlife in your own neighbourhood, you can support vital conservation research whilst connecting with nature and enjoying the outdoors. That is why this September, researchers, school groups, citizens and wildlife enthusiasts across the continent are coming together in a race against the clock to put nature on the map, submitting photos and observations of wildlife in their neighbourhoods through the free, easy to use iNaturalist mobile phone app. Join an epic race for wildlife this September as citizens across Europe take part in the worlds’ first 48 hour continental BioBlitz!
How to open up research & innovation to young people?
Young people in Europe are facing many challenges with regard to social inclusion. Social participation, employment, social belonging are important examples. There is a pressing need to develop more knowledge and innovation to create more inclusive and youth-friendly societies. One way to contribute to this is Citizen Social Science with young people - Youth Citizen Social Science (Y-CSS). We organise a series of three webinars to discuss central questions of Y-CSS and to create a network of interested people. The webinars are for practitioners of Citizen Science, Community-based Research and youth engagement. We would be happy to learn from your experience and the questions you bring. We would be particularly grateful for young researchers and youth organisations to take part. We want to learn from their work and perspectives. People without prior experience are of course also very welcome. These are exciting conversations and we are working hard to make them happen in inclusive and equitable ways. Participation in the webinars is open to everybody and free of charge.

El evento se concibe como un encuentro de cooperación e intercambio de conocimientos entre gestores de proyectos, investigadores y ciudadanía, en el que los participantes comparten sus experiencias. El programa del evento combina ponencias y mesas redondas en las que participarán expertos de diversas áreas con presentaciones de proyectos de ciencia ciudadana relacionados con las ciencias sociales y las humanidades. Además, habrá espacio para la realización de talleres de carácter práctico dirigidos a profesionales y a público general en los que se podrá conocer con mayor profundidad algunos de los proyectos presentados.

Oxford|Berlin Summer School on Open Research 2021
Open research practices have the potential to revolutionise the way research methods and results are communicated, and to facilitate research collaborations and sharing of research outputs in an unprecedented manner. However, adopting these practices requires knowledge and skills that are not normally taught in undergraduate or graduate degrees. To close this gap, we offer a four-day summer school to guide early career researchers (PhD students and postdocs) towards an open, transparent, and reproducible research workflow. These topics will be embedded in a more general curriculum on research ethics and meta-research.
Engaging the society beyond data collection
The challenges of ocean monitoring require data from everywhere at all times, we need to involve society in all steps of the process to achieve the information necessary to implement evidence-based policies in coastal and ocean management. This workshop is a Satellite Activity of the Event “A Predicted Ocean”, an Ocean Decade Laboratory organized in the framework of the United Nations Decade of Ocean for Sustainable Development. The workshop will analyse different challenges in volunteer participation in ocean monitoring projects: from potential barriers for volunteer participation up to how to improve the management of the cost and oceans developing evidence-based policies using in some cases the information generated in these participative processes. Citizen Social Science School: Social Dimensions in Citizen Science
This virtual experience will take place online from 13-23 September. The main goal of this event is to offer academic researchers a common space and a shared time to reflect, discuss, learn, and receive practical guidelines to explore social dimensions behind a wide set of Citizen Science practices related to social issues and when involving groups and persons in a vulnerable situation acting as co-researchers.
Webinar: Blueprint for reducing plastic pollution in rivers through citizen science
Rivers are critical to all life on the planet. They are a source of drinking water and a vital ecosystem for many species. Clean rivers are key. In most recent years, it becomes clear that our rivers are polluted with plastics. Scientific evidence shows that these polluted rivers also contribute to the worldwide plastic pollution of our oceans. In this webinar, we will present the blueprint of our Clean Rivers project and explain how to set a project that focusses on tackling river litter pollution. The program will be interactive to share experiences, knowledge and future collaborations. The program is targeted at non-governmental organisations, policy makers and advisors at European, regional and local level, politicians, waterboards, institutes, universities and companies. El próximo jueves 29 de julio se presentará a través de un evento online gratuito la guía Red 4C sobre ciencia ciudadana y cambio climático tras un año de trabajo de más de 30 entidades. La cita se concibe como una oportunidad para dar a conocer la investigación y las propuestas concretas para promover el compromiso de la sociedad con un problema cada vez más interiorizado entre los españoles. La jornada la abrirá la Directora de la Fundación Biodiversidad del Ministerio para la Transición Ecológica y el Reto Democrático, Elena Pita. Tras ella intervendrán Maite Pelacho del Observatorio de la Ciencia Ciudadana en España y la Fundación Ibercivis con la ponencia: ¿Se puede observar el cambio climático?. El evento también contará con la intervención de dos representantes de Red Cambera, entidad sin ánimo de lucro que trabaja con el objetivo de conservar la naturaleza. Por un lado lo hará Paloma F. Valdor hablando sobre la Guía Red4C, la experiencia de 30 entidades, una red de trabajo destinada a abordar la mitigación y adaptación al cambio climático mediante ciencia ciudadana. Tras ella intervendrá Nacho Cloux con la presentación Proyecto Ríos se escribe con 4C, una red de trabajo destinada a abordar la mitigación y adaptación al cambio climático mediante ciencia ciudadana.
NASA GLOBE Observer Mosquito Habitat Photo Challenge
The Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) Program invites citizen scientists from around the world to participate in the Mosquito Habitat Photo Challenge. This challenge combines Mosquito Habitat Mapper and Land Cover (two GLOBE Observer app tools) to document mosquito breeding habitats with photos. GLOBE would like you to take photos of mosquito habitats, in either natural or artificial containers. If mosquito larvae are present, you are encouraged to photograph them with a magnifier (optional). Then, we’d like you to take photos of the land around the habitat location using the Land Cover tool. Photos submitted during this challenge will be used to create automated classification programs that can identify mosquito larvae and the environments they prefer. Such computer programs can help prevent outbreaks of mosquito-borne disease
