Vielschichtige Perspektiven & Erfahrungen Neben Inputs zu zentralen Themen rund um partizipative Projektarbeit lebt der CAS von den vielschichtigen Perspektiven und Erfahrungen der Teilnehmenden. Diese kommen aus ganz unterschiedlichen Bereichen: zum Beispiel aus der Forschung, Museen, Bibliotheken, Archiven, NGOs, der Verwaltung oder dem Gesundheitsbereich. So vielfältig diese Zielgruppe auf den ersten Blick sein mag, sie eint das Interesse an der Umsetzung partizipativer Projekte, an gemeinsamer Wissensproduktion und dem Einbezug der Bevölkerung. Genau in dieser Kombination aus Unterschieden und Gemeinsamkeiten der CAS-Teilnehmenden sehen wir eine grosse Chance für das Von- und Miteinander-Lernen und für die Vernetzung mit Gleichgesinnten, die sich in ganz anderen institutionellen Umgebungen bewegen und zu den verschiedensten Themen arbeiten.

Describing your citizen science project – How to present your project and recruit volunteers
In this installment of our webinar series, CS Track researchers will share tips and tricks for writing informative and engaging project descriptions and analyse concrete examples (both positive and negative) together with the participants. Moreover, participants will have the chance to draft their own descriptions and receive feedback from the presenters. Following a round of introductions and presentation of our research, the participants will analyse examples (good and bad), discuss good practices for writing project descriptions, and then draft their own project descriptions (for real or fantasy projects). Österreichische Citizen Science Konferenz vom 28. – 30.06.2022 gemeinsam mit der österreichischen Citizen Science Plattform Österreich forscht und der Universität für Bodenkultur Wien in Dornbirn veranstalten zu dürfen. Der Tradition der Österreichischen Citizen Science Konferenzen folgend sind explizit alle Fachrichtungen und Vertreter*innen mit unterschiedlichsten institutionellen Hintergründen eingeladen teilzunehmen. The role of photographic heritage in empowering communities participation in cultural heritage
This event is organized by Photoconsortium in cooperation with the University of Pisa and will be hosted at the Museum of Graphics in Pisa (Italy). The event will take the form of a 1-day conference with leading speakers from the CitizenHeritage consortium partners and other experts in digital cultural heritage, in Social Sciences and Humanities research and in the use of participatory approaches in a cultural and/or educational context. The main aim of the event will be to offer insights about successful stories of citizen participation in Cultural Heritage Institutions and Higher Education Institutions. In addition to the conference programme, a digitization desk will be organized, inviting participants to share heritage photos from their family albums, which will be digitized on the spot by a professional photographer. The stories associated with the image(s) will be collected and converted in appropriate metadata to accompany the digital objects. The collected records will be aggregated by Photoconsortium and offered to Europeana for publication.
Social media and online platforms are used by citizen science projects to share information about their work, how to participate, and motivate citizens to join them but also as a research tool. CS Track is exploring how communication is done and what type of information is shared. In this workshop, we want to share our insights on this and also explain how this data can be used in other contexts such as formal education. Furthermore, we would like to know more about your experience with metadata, metadata standards, and your ideas on how this data can also be used for other purposes. Who is it aimed at? Open Innovaton in Science Research Conference 2022
Researching OIS includes investigating whether, how, and under which conditions applying open and collaborative practices along one or more stages of the scientific research process influences novelty, efficiency, and/or the impact of scientific research, taking a balanced view that recognizes important contingency factors on the individual, organizational, and ecosystem-level. Within this framework, paper presentation sessions at this year’s conference are, among others, related to citizen and crowd science, university-industry collaborations, data and material sharing, inter- and transdisciplinary collaborations, and scientific networks.

During this interactive webinar, members of the CS Track team will share strategies for science communication in citizen science projects, provide an overview of relevant software and resources, and help participants explore an easy-to-use free data visualization tool. Innovative INOS: Bringing Open Knowledge and Innovation to Higher Education
Since 2019, the INOS project (Integrating open and citizen science into active learning approaches in higher education) has developed activities, experiences and tools to encourage HEIs to be part of this growing movement through teaching, learning, training and taking part in open innovation and knowledge activities. On the 3rd and the 4th of May the INOS project will hold a two-day online event to present the results and outputs of the project. The event will be split into three areas of discussion: - A general introduction to illustrate the ways that HEIs integrate open and citizen science into their practices. (3rd May AM); - A practical approach with workshops on pedagogical tools and best practices developed through the INOS project; - An inspiring discussion on the social role of universities through talks, a Knowledge Café to discuss the social and innovative impact that results from the practising of open and citizen science within HEIs. Engaging Citizen Science Conference 2022
The Engaging Citizen Science Conference will take place at Aarhus University, Denmark, April 25-26, 2022 and will promote knowledge sharing among the citizen science community. The aim of the conference is to engage citizen science researchers, practitioners, and citizens in sharing research, ideas, and innovations in order to make the field thrive and expand. The conference will be interdisciplinary in scope, inviting workshops, dialogue roundtables, posters, and demos from all main areas of research (natural and technical sciences, life and health sciences, and social sciences and humanities). The main conference language will be English, meaning that keynotes and main track sessions will be in English. Language of individual workshop sessions, dialogue roundtables, posters and demos are at the discretion of the session/roundtable/poster/demo organizer(s) and must be either Danish or English.
