Strašno hudi

Strašno hudi (Totally Awesome) is an independent digital media and production platform founded by podcast creators Klara Škrinjar and Maja Čakarić, now joined by a growing network of collaborators. Their work centres on in‑depth audio stories about remarkable individuals—people who quietly push boundaries through their work, values, and perseverance, contributing to a more connected and responsible society. Their signature format is the audio portrait. In a landscape dominated by conversational podcasts, they focus on demanding production: scripting, dramaturgy, and sound design. This approach goes beyond traditional radio and creates thoughtful, lasting, and carefully crafted media stories.

In 2025, Strašno hudi expanded into citizen science with the project Collaborative journey from facts to fiction. Led by Slovenia’s citizen science ambassador Zarja Muršič, the project brings together intergenerational groups to explore folk wisdom and contemporary online trends related to health, food, and the environment. They collected 369 sayings and worked with citizen scientist in workshops to examine them and co‑create tools for distinguishing facts from misconceptions—strengthening media literacy and contributing to a society grounded in evidence.

Beyond podcasting, the team embraces a multi‑layered digital approach: investigative stories, expert collaborations, public events, intergenerational workshops, original photography, and music by young Slovenian artists. They also partner with national and regional media and public institutions to ensure long‑term accessibility of their work. Since 2018, Strašno hudi has operated as an independent outlet committed to high journalistic and production standards, with a vision to foster dialogue, critical thinking, and socially relevant storytelling.
