Barcelona Citizen Science Office
The Barcelona Citizen Science Office is a multidisciplinary platform for the promotion of citizen science based on experience, good practices and collective learning. Promoted by the Barcelona City Council since 2012, our mission is to support participatory research through advising, accompanying and promoting scientific projects in the city and its metropolitan area.
A community of practice constitutes the basis of the various transversal programs and actions organized by the Office, such as 'Citizen science in the neighbourhoods' and 'Citizen science in schools'.
Through these actions, the office wants to increase citizen participation in the scientific research process at any of its stages and in the most extensive and inclusive way, so contributing to environmental and social transformation and the improvement of the city.
