FOODWISE is a citizen science project tackling household food waste in underprivileged communities in Thessaloniki, Greece. By involving local residents as Citizen Scientists, we collect real-life data on how people buy, consume, and waste food — especially among vulnerable groups like low-income families, migrants, and the elderly. Funded by Impetus4cs https://impetus4cs.eu/

Aim

•Reduce food waste at a household level

Promote affordable and healthy eating habits

•Empower underrepresented communities

Create practical guidelines for NGOs to replicate this methodology
