Blue Action – Connecting students to ocean stewardship (Blue Action)
The Blue Action project successfully increased ocean and climate literacy among students at the Padre João Coelho Cabanita School in Loulé. Activities developed throughout the initiative stimulated active citizenship by encouraging creativity and critical thinking. The project culminated in ‘The Ocean’ exhibition, which showcased sculptures and artworks designed by students using marine debris collected during field trips.
Aim
To strengthen students’ ocean and climate literacy and encourage active citizenship for sustainable use of marine resources. The work linked classroom learning with practical environmental action and helped students communicate the value of protecting their local aquatic environment.
