Bl3u water lab: the simulation and study of aquatic ecosystems with a view to developing primary school children’s marine life literacy and sustainability skills (Bl3u Water Lab)
The "Bl3u water lab" project aimed to raise awareness and improve knowledge of marine ecosystems by establishing an educational aquarium on the school premises. As a member of the ECO schools, UNESCO ASPnet and Erasmus+ networks, the school planned and exploited this ocean literacy-oriented project to foster a culture of sea world preservation.
Aim
To build marine-life literacy and a culture of care for aquatic ecosystems through practical, school-based learning. The "Bl3u water lab" project aimed to raise awareness and improve knowledge of marine ecosystems by establishing an educational aquarium on the school premises. Furthermore, the project developed the "Bl3u turtle survey instrument", a questionnaire designed to measure marine and ocean life knowledge within the school community.
