How has the coast of l'Ametlla de Mar changed? Exploring from the sea, its beaches and its marine ecosystems
The project promoted the exploration and preservation of the coastline of l’Ametlla de Mar through interdisciplinary educational activities. A primary outcome was the collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Catalonia on a scientific project for the reforestation of Posidonia oceanica meadows. Artistic results included murals constructed from collected waste and the interactive digital game "Salvem la posidònia".
Aim
To understand changes in the local coast and promote care for protected marine ecosystems. This initiative enabled students to study and maintain rhizomes in classroom aquariums, which encouraged data collection, direct observation, and environmental awareness.
