Study of the impact and consequences of the increased temperature of maritime and continental waters on the Arousa estuary

Completed

On 1 August 2024, IES Félix Muriel de Rianxo began the Fervedoiro project, which focused on the risks and consequences of rising water temperatures in the Arousa estuary. The initiative commenced through collaboration and the exchange of experiences with the Refuxios project from IES Lagoa de Antela. Students also produced scientific research data through the collection and analysis of seawater temperatures in Rianxo.

Aim

To understand and communicate the environmental and social consequences of rising water temperatures in the local estuary. The work linked classroom learning with practical environmental action and helped students communicate the value of protecting their local aquatic environment.
