Clean water guardians: Protecting freshwater ecosystems
The project strengthened freshwater literacy and environmental responsibility among students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) through experiential and inclusive learning activities. It engaged students and teachers in field-based exploration of key freshwater ecosystems in south-western Romania, focusing on the Jiu River and its connection to the Danube, as well as the Tismana and Sohodol river valleys.
Aim
To strengthen students' water and ocean literacy through practical activities addressing freshwater ecosystems, SEN inclusion, water quality, biodiversity, STEM education, while promoting environmental responsibility, scientific understanding and community engagement.
