R.I.V.E.R.S. - Recording Impacts on Vital Ecosystems through Responsible Water Stewardship

Completed

The RIVERS project investigated the role of tributary rivers in the pollution of Lake Sevan, the largest freshwater body in the Southern Caucasus. Nine schools in the Gegharkunik province adopted a river in their community and conducted weekly water quality measurements. Beyond data collection, students participated in inter-school sessions to present findings to peers and parents, which initiated discussions on river pollution and its impacts.

Aim

Under the guidance of the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises, two schools also developed virtual educational games aimed at raising awareness of freshwater pollution, alongside a webpage where all project outcomes were nested.
