School Advocating Fishing Ethics (SAFE)
The “School Advocating Fishing Ethics (SAFE)” project brought much-needed attention to the issue of overfishing and destructive fishing in Georgia’s waters, where educational resources were historically scarce. This initiative placed young people at the centre by engaging them through interactive training sessions, workshops, and creative poster-making guided by a professional designer. A museum visit successfully connected the participants.
Aim
A youth-friendly animation and awareness banners installed at Gldani Lake ensured the message remained visible in public spaces. The project supported learners in connecting local water issues with practical conservation actions, public awareness and long-term school-based sustainability practices with the aquatic biodiversity of Georgia.
