STEM Program for Land and Aquatic Share Lab (SplashLab)
SplashLab was an educational initiative that turned the Ria Formosa into an active field laboratory. By integrating technology with hands-on fieldwork, the project connected students directly to coastal and lagoon ecosystems. In partnership with +Azul, students engaged in diving, sailing, and canoeing, fostering a practical and physical bond with the local territory. The programme emphasised technical literacy; students used underwater ROVs.
Aim
To strengthen students' water and ocean literacy through practical activities addressing Ria Formosa, marine monitoring, ROVs, blue technology, coastal ecosystems, STEM education, while promoting environmental responsibility, scientific understanding and community engagement.
