The ABC of Baltic Sea Literacy
This upper secondary teacher project aimed to spread marine and fieldwork skills to strengthen marine literacy and the understanding of how science works in practice. It was based on the philosophy that scientific understanding develops best through practical application rather than theoretical study. The initiative gathered practical materials with concrete guidance and delivered a free Baltic Sea ecology field course for teachers at the University of Helsinki’s Tvärminne Zoological Station.
