Use of marine Algae in filtration processes for water Recycling and Purification in El Jadida (ARPEJ)
Through the application of rudimentary devices, self-fabricated by the students from locally harvested marine algae and recycled plastic containers, it was demonstrated that polluted water could be effectively remediated. Specifically addressing pollutants such as dyes and heavy metallic elements, prevalent in industrial discharge like textile industry wastewater, the treated water was rendered suitable for irrigation.
Aim
To strengthen students' water and ocean literacy through practical activities addressing marine algae, wastewater treatment, water purification, filtration systems, environmental science, while promoting environmental responsibility, scientific understanding and community engagement.
