Water Pollution has no borders

Completed

The Netherlands relied on the water quality of rivers flowing through Europe and entering its borders for its drinking water. Helen Parkhurst, a member of the GLOBE network, engaged its students in Technasium projects to study water quality using standardised protocols. To conclude the project, students were taken outside the school environment to observe the importance of international cooperation within the European Union.

Aim

The project benefited from excellent weather conditions, ensuring secure testing environments, and all primary goals were successfully achieved. The project supported learners in connecting local water issues with practical conservation actions, public awareness and long-term school-based sustainability practices.
