Research and preservation of water resources in the Sokyriany Community through education, open science and student engagement (SokyH2O)
SokyH2O involved students in researching and protecting water resources in the Sokyriany community. Over seven months, students assessed water quality, documented biodiversity, used camera traps, cleaned and improved sites, and helped create an eco-trail connecting 14 water locations with information boards, QR codes and open research data.
Aim
To combine student research, open science and local action to improve knowledge, protection and public awareness of freshwater resources in the Sokyriany community.
