Sensibilizing about Underwater effects of NOise pollution (SUoNO)

Completed

SUoNO raised awareness of underwater noise pollution among children on the Slovenian coast. High school students measured underwater noise in the Bay of Koper, mapped levels in relation to human activity, discussed impacts on marine life and created games, activities and workshops for younger pupils and teachers.

Aim

To make an often-invisible form of marine pollution understandable by combining acoustic monitoring, student-led research and peer education for coastal school communities.
