WETLAB: Wetland Ecosystems for Treatment and Landscape Active Balance
WETLAB explored how nature-based wetland systems can clean and manage water. Students designed, built and tested small-scale wetland models, simulating water flow and examining the roles of soil, vegetation and retention zones. Field visits to Kopački Rit and the DaWetRest Demo Site connected classroom experiments with real wetland ecosystems.
Aim
To help students understand wetlands as natural filtration systems and nature-based solutions for water quality, biodiversity and climate resilience.
