Followly

Followly is European platform exploring the art and intelligence of animal tracking.

We are particularly interested in what happens before we know: how a trace makes us question, doubt, compare perceptions and gradually make sense collectively of an encounter we did not witness. By learning to remain attentive to what we do not yet know, through citizen science and artistic projects, we hope to cultivate more careful ways of knowing and relating to the living world.

Aim

Followly is an art–science initiative founded by filmmakers and nature educators Valentine Bourrat and Nicolas Van Achter, exploring animal tracking as a practice of attention, producing knowledge and transmitting cultures of the field.

Followly pursues five missions:

1. defending ecological intelligence,
2. preserving European tracking cultures,
3. strengthening cognitive resilience,
4. connecting a European community through citizen science,
5. and developing environmental storytelling.
