Reaching out and stepping up: How citizen science and RRI can enhance bioscience research
Since the onset of the COVID19 pandemic, the impact of bioscience research on all of our lives has been made far too clear. However, developments within this field of research will continue to have long-lasting impacts on the world around us long after the current pandemic, from improving food security, mitigating climate change, protecting wildlife and the environment, as well as to continued medical advancements of all types. As the world continues to collide with the field of bioscience research, it has become increasingly important to include societal actors when we approach these fields of study. ResBios and StepChange invite you to join an online conversation about how RRI and citizen science can be used to enhance research, with a particular focus on open science and public engagement in the fields of bioscience research. By combining our shared experiences, we aim to demonstrate the theory and practice of employing these principles while discussing future challenges.

Maggiori informazioni prossimamente qui https://www.facebook.com/citizenscienceitalia https://www.facebook.com/museostorianaturalemaremma https://www.museonaturalemaremma.it/ With great pleasure, we announce that the National Citizen Science meeting organized in collaboration with EU-Citizen.Science and Action will be held on 11-12 November 2021 at the Maremma Natural History Museum (Grosseto, Italy). The “BioBlitz a tutti i costi” is a free event open to everyone, to learn to recognize living species present in nature and to collect original scientific data, useful for conservation. Through the iNaturalist app, you can send photos of animal and plant species (not domestic) that you took outdoors or in one of the participating National Parks. If you can't leave home due to the Covid-19 pandemic, you can upload photos from your archives. As in a real BioBlitz (which usually lasts 24 hours and is held outdoors), the "BioBlitz a tutti i costi " will produce a list of species thanks to the collaboration between citizens and experts who will help you in identifications. You can participate from all over Italy and also enter photos taken abroad! Go to the website www.inaturalist.org/projects/natura-sulle-mura and join the project “bioblitz a tutti i costi” www.inaturalist.org/projects/bioblitz-a-tutti-i-costi
