EN/GER: Wie gesund sind deine Kartoffeln? DNA-Analyse im molekularbiologischen Labor des Naturkundemuseums
English description below -DEU- Welche Kartoffelsorten sind resistent gegen Kartoffelfäule, Colletotrichum-Welkekrankheit, Silberschorf? -ENG- Which potato varieties are resistant to dry rot, black dot and silver scurf? These are the different diseases that the PataFEST project deals with. To give an insight into the world of potato research, ECSA, together with the Natural History Museum Berlin, invites potato growers to bring in their own potato leaves. You can then test them for disease resistant genes. Together with the team from the laboratory, the different stages of DNA analysis will be explained and carried out: Isolation of DNA, quantification, PCR and DNA sequencing. Curious? Then write to us at patafest@ecsa.ngo You can also register here: https://forms.monday.com/forms/b293b6583af626453f7e5c57b675a190?r=euc1 Unfortunately, people, who are pregnant, breastfeeding or under the age of 18 cannot enter the lab. We will have a separate booth in the exhibition hall of the museum accessible for everyone.

Started in 2016 as a competition between Los Angeles and San Francisco, the City Nature Challenge (CNC) has grown into an international event, motivating people around the world to find and document wildlife in their own cities. Run by the Community Science teams at the California Academy of Sciences and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (NHM), the CNC is an annual four-day global bioblitz at the end of April, where cities are in a collaboration-meets-friendly-competition to see what can be accomplished when we all work toward a common goal. The 2023 CNC takes place in two parts: 1. Taking pictures of wild plants and animals: April 28 – May 1, 2023 2. Identifying what was found: May 2 – May 7, 2023 Results will be announced on Monday May 8, 2023.

Maggiori informazioni prossimamente qui https://www.facebook.com/citizenscienceitalia https://www.facebook.com/museostorianaturalemaremma https://www.museonaturalemaremma.it/ With great pleasure, we announce that the National Citizen Science meeting organized in collaboration with EU-Citizen.Science and Action will be held on 11-12 November 2021 at the Maremma Natural History Museum (Grosseto, Italy).
