BlueGuard Kids: Involving Young Learners in Monitoring Thau Lagoon Biodiversity and Water Quality
The project was implemented at La Renaissance School in Sète, France, focusing on the Thau Lagoon ecosystem. Students explored the biodiversity of the lagoon and investigated threats affecting water quality and marine life. Activities included field visits, wildlife observations, exchanges with scientists, environmental monitoring, and collaborative learning exercises. Students later shared their findings through a “knowledge marketplace” format.
Aim
The project aimed to transform students into active environmental stewards by increasing their understanding of lagoon biodiversity, marine ecosystems, and ecological threats while strengthening their confidence and scientific skills.
